Dhampus Sarangkot Trek with Chitwan Jungle Safari

You will start the day with a delicious breakfast and then get ready for a full day of guided sightseeing tour. We highly recommend carrying Nepali cash in small notes to buy souvenirs and food during the tour. Our professional, English-speaking tour guide will pick you up from your hotel at the designated time. You will drive with him to different tourist sites around Kathmandu. We have Monkey Temple, Kathmandu Durbar Square, and Patan Durbar Square on today's monument lists. These historical sites will provide you with the Nepalese historical background and a glimpse into Nepali culture, art, and architecture. All of these sites are open museums. Likewise, you will also explore local markets around the monuments. 

You will leave for Pokhara today. We use a comfortable tourist bus to drive to Pokhara. The road is mostly smooth, but some sections can get a bit bumpy. Overall, you will enjoy a comfortable ride to Pokhara. Likewise, the views along the way are also spectacular. You will see lush hills, snow-capped mountains, terraces, rivers, and waterfalls. Upon reaching Pokhara, the guide will drop you at the hotel in Lakeside, the tourist area in the city. The rest of the evening is free. Explore Phewa Lake and the Lakeside Market. 

Start the day with a delicious breakfast and prepare for your short hike. From Pokhara, you will drive to Hyangja, enjoying peaceful views of the suburbs. Start hiking from Hyangja and gradually ascend through forested hills to Astam village. You can see a beautiful valley, hills, and mountains from this village. The trail gradually ascends to Dhamphu village, which offers a view of many mountains like Annapurna, Fishtail, Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri, Hiunchuli, Gangaurna, etc. Spend the night here. 

After breakfast, you will continue from Dhampus to Sarangkot. The morning hours will be serene. Wake up early to see a gorgeous sunrise and western Himalayan mountains stretching on the horizon. From Dhampus, you will gradually descend via lush hills to Sarangkot. It is a popular hill station and paragliding point near Pokhara. Enjoy a lovely stay at one of the pretty hotels. *If your budget allows, upgrade to a luxury hotel or resort for a more pleasing experience. 

Today, you will wake up early in the morning to see a stunning sunrise from Sarangkot. With the sunrise, you will also witness a magical view of mountains like Annapurna, Nilgiri, Dhaulagiri, Fishtail, Gangapurna, Tukuche Peak, etc. After enjoying the views, have your breakfast and get ready to drive back to Pokhara. It will be a short ride back to Pokhara. The rest of the day is free. You can hike down to Phewa Lake from Sarangkot. 

After spending some time around mountains and hills, you will now be amidst the wildlife in Chitwan. You will leave Pokhara early in the morning and enjoy a comfortable ride to Chitwan. The view will be spectacular during the ride. The guide will help you settle in the hotel. Freshen up and get ready to visit a nearby Tharu village. Tharus are one of the indigenous groups in Nepal. You will see their traditional attire and songs and taste some exclusive delicacies during your visit. It will be a lovely evening with all the celebrations, delicious food, songs, and dances. Return to the hotel to spend the night. 

It is going to be a full day of different activities in Chitwan National Park. You will do a jeep jungle safari and travel deep into the forests, where you may spot one-horn rhinos, elephants, royal Bengal tigers, deer, peacocks, wild boar, and many other birds. Then, you can visit the elephant breeding center to see how elephants are raised and how their foods are prepared. Likewise, visit the aquatic center to see crocodiles and other water animals. If you are up for more adventure, you can go on long walks in deep forests to see birds. There is also an option for canoeing and water rappelling. 

It is time to return to Kathmandu. Leave Chitwan early in the morning and drive back to Kathmandu. The highway is the same as before. You will drive following rolling hills and rivers. Settle in your hotel upon reaching Kathmandu and spend the remaining day as you wish. 

Today, you will have a full free day in Kathmandu. It is a great time to visit tourist sites like Pashupatinath Temple, Bouddhanath Stupa, and Bhaktapur Durbar Square. Likewise, you can do different activities such as pottery, cooking classes, and street food tours. Most importantly, it is your last day in Kathmandu, so purchase your souvenirs.
